Antique Wood Floor - Old Wood or New Floor?
February 9th, 2010 by playthefieldDeciding what type of flooring to place in your new home or for your remodeling project can be a difficult decision. Some homeowners decide to use new hardwood flooring, some use laminate floors, and yet others decide to just put down carpet. These are all very good types of flooring to have, but have you considered laying down an >antique wood floor?
Why would anyone want to use old wood that most likely came from an nineteenth century farm house? Today, antique wood flooring is growing in popularity as new homeowners are looking for something a little different for their homes. Something that sets their homes apart from the neighborhood and adds classic charm just like the homes of times past.
One thing is for sure; an antique wood floor is one of a kind. No longer can you just walk into the local hardware store or home goods store and purchase wide plank boards like the ones cut years ago. Today, wood boards are different in the way they look. The antique wood has a distinguishable look because the wood grain is tighter. The tighter grain is a result from slower growing trees. Wood today is cut from faster growing trees and the grain is not as tight making it oftentimes not as strong or with the same warm look as the older wood.
Where can you get antique wood flooring? There are several companies that deal in old antique wood used to make flooring among other things. These companies reclaim the wood from old abandoned structures and make them available for use in new homes. The antique wood is also salvaged from rivers where they were once sunk during logging operations years ago. Suet Bird Feeders - Big Secret to Help Bring More Birds to Your Yard
November 20th, 2009 by playthefieldSuet
There are a number of different ways to serve suet to your backyard birds. The simplest is in a wire suet basket, approximately 6 by 6 inches in size, made especially for this purpose. These baskets may be pole mounted or mounted to a fence, wall, tree, or they may be hung from a wire or tree branch. We even mount them on the sides of our hopper type
Woodpeckers are big time suet eaters. These birds utilize their stiff tails as props for balance when they eat. Several companies have developed a tail prop suet feeder. These feeders have an additional solid space below the suet basket to accommodate the stiff tail of the woodpecker making feeding more natural. These are made of wood such as cedar or recycled poly lumber made out of recycled milk and drink bottles with the wire basket built in. The woodpeckers feel comfortable feeding from these feeders and the clinging birds such as the chickadees, nuthatches and titmice are also able to use them.
In some areas larger suet eating birds such as starlings and jays make serious inroads on the suet supplies provided by backyard birders. If this is the case in your area, try an upside down suet
For home bound birders, at least one company has developed a window mounted suet
Traditional suet eaters include woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, creepers, titmice, wrens, thrashers, jays, starlings, sparrows, finches and bluebirds. All of these will eat suet from one or more of the above mentioned feeders. Suet, when chopped into tiny pieces and spread out on a platform or tray type
Some areas, like the area we live in, do not have an abundance of traditional suet eaters. Our Cactus Wrens, Curve-billed Thrashers, House Finches and an occasional White-crowned Sparrow in winter come to eat from our suet feeders so we always keep at least one full of suet. The other suet feeders in our yard are sent into multi-tasking mode. Several are filled with half an orange in spring, summer and fall to attract orioles, mockingbirds, tanagers, catbirds and more species which do not readily come in to our seed feeders. During spring and early summer other suet feeders are stuffed with cotton and yarn tailings for the birds to use for nesting material. This draws nearly every species of

Current United States Population
November 15th, 2009 by playthefieldThe current United States population is approximately just over 300
The year 1790 brought the United States’ first census. At this time, there were not quite 4
Fertility and immigration rates have a lot of impact on population sizes. The fertility rate in America is 2.1 children born to each woman, a fairly stable and modest, zero-growth population growth fertility rate, especially compared to the rest of the globe. Immigration has a larger impact on population growth as every 29 seconds an immigrant is gained in the United States.
Current United States population maps reveal where residents are choosing to live. The highest density areas include The Los Angeles/Orange County area with greater than 10,000,000 people overall as well as on the other side of the country, in the New York City/Tri State Metro area also with over 10,000,000 residents. Slightly less popular but still with a resident base of between 5,000,000 and 10,000,000 residents include areas such as the San Francisco Bay area, Providence Rhode Island area, Detroit, Michigan area, Washington DC area, and the Chicago, Illinois area.
Between 2.5
People choosing to live in areas with 1.5 to 2.5

-Portland/Salem, Maine
-Denver, Colorado
-San Antonio, Texas
-Indianapolis, Indiana
-Kansas City, Missouri
-Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
-Orlando, Florida
-Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg, Florida
Current United States population densities impact many aspects of living including taxes, Kenner Super Powers and electoral votes. Due to California’s enormous size and population, they are granted 55 electoral votes making them a necessary and incredibly important state to “win” for any presidential candidate. Other states with a high number of electoral votes include Florida, Illinois, New York, and Texas.
The United States saw a jump of 13% in population over the 1990’s. Ranking in population behind only China and India.
Though behind India in total population, the United States has a higher number of elderly (80 years and over) population.
The US has fewer children under the age of 5 in its population than Nigeria, though the US has twice the population of Nigeria (Nigeria has a higher fertility rate).
The US was not the only country to increase in population during the 90’s decade. China saw an 11% jump, India a 19% jump, Nigeria a whopping 33% jump and Indonesia a jump of 19%.
There are many situations and circumstances facing a country with almost a zero-growth population rate. Health care for increasing number of elderly people, as well as job distribution among higher numbers of people in their prime working years are all concepts that need to be handled and scrutinized by government officials.

Unclaimed Money in Missouri Totals Over 400 Million
November 11th, 2009 by playthefieldAccording to State Treasurer Sarah Steelman, Missouri unclaimed money has grown to the massive sum Chinese Mudmen $400
With MO unclaimed money rolls approaching a half of a billion dollars, the “Show Me State” ought to change its name to the “Show Me The Money State”. So where does all that money come from? There are many dozens of different types of sources for unclaimed property, but some of the most common are abandoned bank accounts, safe deposit boxes, checks that have not been cashed, certificates of deposit, forgotten stocks, life insurance policies.
While there is no time limit on claiming missing money, Missouri only guarantees that they’ll hold items from safe deposit boxes for 1 year (though they do sometimes hold them for longer). According to the MO State Treasurer’s website, this is how they handle these items: Although State Treasurer Steelman would like to keep the contents of safe deposit boxes until an owner or heir is identified, the unclaimed property vault used to store non-monetary items of value Art Deco Ceramics coins, etc.) reaches capacity every couple of years. When the vault is full, the Unclaimed Property Division hosts an auction, and the proceeds 0000063Dgenerated from the sale of items from safe deposit boxes is recorded in the name of the safe deposit box owner. If owners or heirs are identified, they receive the entire proceeds from the sale of the items.
Obviously for those people who use (or have used) safe deposit boxes, it’s important to quickly get your search started if the items have a sentimental value to you, but at least you’ll get the money if they sell your items. Luckily for the rest of us, most of the money doesn’t come from unclaimed property auctions.
Whether you’re a current or former Missouri resident, or in some cases, have never lived in Missouri at all, the odds that lost money is owed to you, are in your favor. And the best part about money from unclaimed funds is that the money already belongs to people. There are no games or gambling involved. The only thing keeping missing money from becoming found money, for most people, is their knowledge about where to search, and how to search.
Countless myths exist about unclaimed property. The most common is that performing a simple online search on any old website constitutes a full search. Sadly most of these “official” searches, are anything but, and their data is often very outdate if not completely false, and only there as a sales hook. The other myth is that the state records are up to date and accurate.
There is no uniform rule that dictates when the states, including Missouri, must update their unclaimed money records. For this reason, one of the best things you can do is search regularly. If your money has only been class00004000ified “unclaimed” recently, it likely won’t show up in Missouri’s system until it’s first been turned over by the account holder, and then whenever the state treasurer’s office adds the record.
To learn more about these unclaimed property search obstacles, and many more, and it is important to seek expert assistance in your search for lost assets, to ensure that you reclaim all possible money owed to you.

Guild Wars - Eye of the North
November 6th, 2009 by playthefieldGuild Wars is a great game. With all the features of other popular massive multiplayer games, all with Kentucky personal injury attorneys monthly subscription. The expansion, Eye of the North is no exception. This expansion adds 4 new regions all with their own quests and monsters allowing for 18 additional dungeons.
This new and only expansion for Guild Wars was developed to act as a bridge to the rumored Guild Wars 2. A bridge was required for NCSoft to introduce the new maps, dungeons, and
Eye of the North is a direct sequel of Guild Wars, and picks up about 8 years after the first game left off. A great earthquake spreads across all 3 continents on the map of the game, and strange creatures begin to appear. These are the new monsters that have been added with the expansion.
Eye of the North also features 40 new armor sets, some of which are rare and some stand-alone items. If you’d like to find a list of newly added armor sets, see the Guild Wars wiki. Guild Wars gold is easier to come by compared to other MMO’s such as World of Warcraft.
If you ever get stuck in a particular region of the game there are multiple Guild Wars Maps available to help you through both the open region as well as maps for the individual dungeons. Sometimes without a Guild Wars map, it is impossible to navigate through the dungeons. Eye of the North seems to have more structure compared to other releases from the Guild Wars series. There are 4 new title tracks within Eye of the North. As you complete a certain number of tasks for each track, new merchants will be made available to you.
As far as I know, cheating is restricted in the Guild Wars world by their server. Most MMORPG’s have systems in place to prevent cheating, I wouldn’t expect much else from Guild Wars Eye of the North.
Guild Wars Eye of the North has been long awaited, an00001945d it appears the wait has 1976 Topps baseball off. Guild Wars Eye of the North is an exceptional game worthy of being a sequel to Guild Wars. The map in Eye of the North is very beautiful and the environments are easy to get swept in.
